What to Wear for Paintball: Essential Gear Guide

Dress right from head to toe to stay comfortable, protected and ready for action.

One of the biggest questions we hear is “What should I wear?” Comfort and protection are key. You don’t need fancy gear, just a few smart choices【43306363369606†L1841-L1845】.

Long Sleeves & Pants

Cover as much skin as possible to cushion paintball hits and protect from brush. Wear a long‑sleeve shirt and long pants you don’t mind getting dirty【43306363369606†L1846-L1861】. Camouflage or dark colours hide stains and help you blend into the woods【43306363369606†L1861-L1864】. Layering a T‑shirt under your long sleeves adds padding.

Sturdy Footwear

Your shoes should offer traction and ankle support. Old sneakers, trail shoes or lightweight hiking boots work well【43306363369606†L1865-L1871】. Avoid open‑toed shoes or sandals【43306363369606†L1874-L1878】.

Gloves and Hand Protection

Getting hit on the knuckles can sting. Cheap work gloves, fingerless athletic gloves or purpose‑built paintball gloves offer protection and grip【43306363369606†L1882-L1892】. If you forget gloves, tuck your off‑hand when running or grab a pair from our pro shop.

Headwear

Wear a baseball cap or beanie under your mask to cushion your head and absorb sweat【43306363369606†L1898-L1904】. In cool weather, a knit cap keeps you warm. If you have long hair, tie it back and tuck it into your collar or headwrap【43306363369606†L1901-L1914】.

Extra Padding

If you’re worried about pain, add a hoodie or thin foam pads under your shirt【43306363369606†L1915-L1931】. Avoid bulky armour – you still need to move freely. Knee pads are optional but nice if you plan to slide or kneel【43306363369606†L1921-L1927】.

Leave Valuables at Home

Take off jewellery and empty your pockets before hitting the field【43306363369606†L1936-L1946】. You don’t want to lose or damage items while diving behind a bunker.

Bring a Change of Clothes

After a messy, sweaty match, changing into clean clothes feels great【43306363369606†L1948-L1956】. Pack spare shoes, socks and wet wipes to clean up before you head home.

Rental Gear & Camo Tips

If you’re renting, we supply the marker, mask and barrel cover【43306363369606†L1963-L1976】. You can purchase or rent chest protectors and gloves at the pro shop. Camouflage clothing gives a slight advantage in woodsball – but dark clothes are perfectly fine【43306363369606†L1977-L1985】.

Follow these guidelines and you’ll step onto the field confident and comfortable【43306363369606†L1988-L1994】. Have specific gear questions? Ask our staff when you arrive – we’re always happy to help.
